After enabling APC we are getting a lot of AJAX 500 internal server errors in Panels. Particualrly when adding any view related panes but also on cancelling the edit in the IPE, when printing the "panel is being edited by another user" message and more.

Disabling APC fixes all of it. We were pointed to APC being a potential issue by threads (including others relating to Views) like:

#1273106: HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error) only on some Views Displays
#1457820: Views editing throws an AJAX error when APC is enabled (allegedly fixed a similar views problem)
#1390160: Views panes completely disappear after module update is run

So there does seem to be an issue but I'm not sure if it's a bug with Ctools, Panels or Views, misconfigured APC on our end or a bug with the APC module. I'm leaving it as a support request for that reason as I'm not sure where the fault lies. Has anyone run into similar issues and solved them?
