#1678318: Media Youtube doesn't have good documentation. I installed it, now what? suggests that the Read me could use some info about how to properly use this module. It is basically the normal Media workflow but I guess reiterating it here wouldn't hurt.

RobW CreditAttribution: RobW commentedPeople get confused by this pretty often. A couple lines of instruction would go a long way.
If someone wants to expand and make more readable my list in http://drupal.org/node/1678318#comment-6235138, please do.
It would be nice to fix this in time for the upcoming stable release.

dddave CreditAttribution: dddave commentedI'll do my best over the weekend.

dddave CreditAttribution: dddave commentedThat took a while. Sorry.
Please review the attached file. If this is liked somebody needs to create a patch implementing this.

RobW CreditAttribution: RobW commentedDo you know if the process is significantly different on D6?
dddave CreditAttribution: dddave commentedUh, haven't used D6 in ages. No idea.

RobW CreditAttribution: RobW commentedMarked these as duplicates (even though they came first):
#1184856: What is the workflow to display a playable video embed?
#695174: How do I use this?
Most of Media: YouTube is generic Media workflow, so people interested in helping should look here first: #1699066: Revise documentation for Media 2.0; remove deprecated information, include overview and walkthrough examples. After Media docs are updated, Media: YouTube and Vimeo should only be a one or two paragraph addition.

RobW CreditAttribution: RobW commentedMight be worth it linking to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7443578/youtube-iframe-api-how-do-i-c..., as mentioned in #1667660-10: Using Javascript API, in the readme. Maybe a "further reading" links section.
It would probably be good to link to Media documentation there too.

rooby CreditAttribution: rooby commentedI think the part that is most lacking is how to add inline youtube videos in WYSIWYG/CKEditor modules.
I have enabled the text format filter, and have enabled the media button & plugin in CKEditor but it just outputs a still image no matter what.

RobW CreditAttribution: RobW commentedRooby, check file types -> video -> manage file display, and make sure that both the video and preview image formatters are enabled and that video is on top.

RobW CreditAttribution: RobW commentedReadme heavily updated in #1693648-17: Create stable release of Media: YouTube for 7.x. Until it's committed, please comment there.

RobW CreditAttribution: RobW commentedThe above issue is committed. I think the readme is looking good, but it could always look better -- please re-open with any additions or revisions.
