I have tested this scenario with a fresh drupal site and its only occurring after upgrading to views3.0... With views2.x everything seems fine but after upgrade, we experienced the weird behavior.. I hope it gets included in the fix...

It is not a problem with similar terms because I tested the scenario with different versions of SBT1/SBT2 in combination with views2 and 3....
