Okay, I figured out you can theme the layerswitcher box using the style.css in openlayers.

What I can't figure out is how to change the titles "Overlays" and "Base Layer"?
Also, I want to figure out how to add icons to the overlays section, so it also acts as a legend.

How are those things accomplished?

I'm interestend into this too. Would like to change the "Overlays" and "Base Layer" texts too (too geeky, it's not average user language)!

There is an alternative layerswitcher in the openlayers_plus module.
