Prev/Next Links Not Showing Correct Record in View List

I've specified which views to include the prev/next api in /admin/settings/prev_next/views but when I view a record in a views list and use the prev/next links, I am not brought to the proper record as listed in the views results. Has anyone encountered this problem and/or have a solution on how to fix it so that when I am viewing a node selected from a views list, the prev/next will display the nodes as listed in the view results list?
