I have an existing site for example xyz.com, I want to create on its multi-site a sub-domain sub.xyz.com to make related job site with recruiter distribution. So that they both have the same shared codebase, is it possible? or distribution wouldn't work on multi-site sub-domain?

Yes, that should be possible. You can move (or link) the modules from profiles/recruiter/modules to sites/all/modules.
