What a pity! Setting up the module was fairly easy and there is a good range of features and configuration options.
But the absence of the year view and, to be honest, the absence of a 3 months view are vital for a good calendar.
Sure, the trad. Calendar module lacks the 3 months view as well - out of the box - but the annual view is there.
I also understand that the annual view is not a matter for the Drupal module - it has to come from the library - but supplier often only respond to client demand - so the Drupal clients need to voice their need to get the supplier to add features.

Once it is upstream, nothing would need to be changed in the module for it to work.
