Message OG Example page Not Found

Although the View that is installed with the Message OG Example very clearly has a Page Display with a path, a 'Page Not Found' error comes up when visiting the URL. Have done: cleared cache, deleted relevant views_view and views_display records, and rebuilt menu and permission. The Message Example one DOES work, however.

Organic Groups is in 7.x-1.3 and we have no plans to jump to 7.2 any time soon because of all the pain in changing all our OG-related queries...are we doomed?
