Hi,

I have cpanel and fantastico through my hosters and I got Drupal installed using it. Currently it's telling me I should upgrade to 4.5.1.

Now I had a site failure just before Christmas that turned out to be down to a fault with my hosters when upgrading/altering PHP. However, it scared me enough that I clicked the upgrade option.

The result seemed to be that I lost ALL my data...However there was a backup so I asked Affordable Host to roll it back for me, which they did.

So my question: Does anyone else have this option and have they used it to see what happens? At the moment my only real option for upgrading (that I can see) is to set up apache and PHP on my computer at home, install 4.4.2, copy my data there. Upgrade that installation to 4.5.2 then migrate the upgraded data back to my website, hoping nothing goes wrong in the meantime.

This worries me. Has anyone got any better ideas, thoughts, etc?

Alternatively, I can set up a new updated Drupal on my other site and get that working, but I'd need to know the precise mappings I must do to the database information to get it running.

Cheers
Theo
