After enabling "Menu translation" module from "Internationalization" bundle 6.x-1.10 notification about new messages is no more shown in menu item.
I used menu item called "Messages" that pointed to internal "messages" URL. The cool thing is that it automatically showed amount of new messages right in menu item and it even was translatable through standard Drupal interface. But after enabling menu translation amount of new messages is not showed any more.
It was:

Main menu
-My page
-Messages(1 new)
-Blablabla

And became

Main menu
-My page
-Messages ------ no notification even though new messages are present 
-Blablabla

There is one solution of making duplicate menu links each with it`s own title and visible only for specific language, but it is not really cool solution. Any ideas about making "new messages" notification in menu with internationalization enabled?

This issue is being closed because it is against a branch for a version of Drupal that is no longer supported.
If you feel that this issue is still valid, feel free to re-open and update it (and any possible patch) to work with the 7.x-1.x branch (bug fixes only) or the 7.x-2.x branch.
