I've added a default meta tag to my content type, but only shows available Date (Unix timestamp) field, and I need to display a date field in short format.

can anyone help me?

Update to the latest Token module and try reviewing the available tokens in the new popup browser.

Please provide a screenshot of the token browser that you are looking at, I'm not sure of *which* date value you are talking about. Thanks.

It was very simple, only go to

structure > content types > my content type > manage display > options

activate tokens and customize the ouput of the field.
