Based on the feedback at #1751662: Couldn't index items. Check the logs for details., it is not apparent that the Search APi schema has to be selected. The connector should check the schema and add a very loud warning if the correct one isn't being used.

Also, as mentioned by BarisW, we should ensure that the error is logged appropriately. Search API handles the logging, and if the appropriate info isn't there we should either explicitly add a log message in this connector or post a patch against Search API to support more detailed messages.

Might be solved with #2130827: Add additional Solr server information to the Server overview, and the red error message if the wrong schema is used. Or should it be even louder?
