I've been trying to figure out a way to make a submission site work. It's like a journal manuscript submission site. The roles involved include authors, reviewers, editors, etc. The core procedure is: first an author submits a manuscript for review, then the editor assigns the submission to 2 reviewers for their comments to form a final decision (acceptance, revision, and rejection), and when that's done the author will be notified of the results and act accordingly.

It would be better if in some way "tracking" would be possible. For example, the author can be informed of the status of the submission, (waiting to be assigned, under review, withdraw, etc.)

Thank you in advance for any feedback

Yes, this is a workflow that maestro can easily handle. You can assign tasks by role and have notifications automatically sent out. We ship the module with a few example 'test' workflows and content types.

Hi blainelang, thank you very much for your quick response. I just watched the video "maestro admin tutorial" on youtube, which gave me a very basic understanding of how it works. There are a lot to find out, but it seems that the workflow demonstrated is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm just not sure if maestro supports specific "webform" forms created instead of content types. I want to let the authors use the multi-steps forms I created to submit their manuscripts, and assign specific webform submission results to editors and reviewers to get thing going. I would really appreciate it if you could give me an answer to this.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!

Dan, we have only used Maestro currently with content types but maestro can easily be extended. If your project is big enough, you may want to consider getting nextide involved else we certainly welcome any patches or contributions.

thank you for your response Blaine. I'm not a programmer and making patches is just beyond me. Well, my project is not very big. I just need to set up a submission system that supports submission and review for 4 journals.

I guess I'll need to wait for patches to use maestro for the purpose finally. Hope there will be someone who can contribute to it. But thanks anyway.
