Streaming audio database

Hi, newbie here.

I have been maintaining a database, (db/text with webpublisher pro), of concert events. There is the descriptive metadata and audio files (hosted externally and linked to via an xml playlist). I would like to migrate to Drupal 7.

I have close to a thousand records created and would like to import them instead of re-entering them all manually. So, I'm not too sure how to proceed. I would like to be able to generate a site where users could search the metadata and receive a results page in which each result could expand into a "full view". So far this seems to be fairly basic. But, I want to be able to add a streaming media player and a play list to the full record so the tracks associated with the concert event could be accessed.

Any suggestions?
