When creating a content type and making configuration settings to the video field, you're told that "An illegal choice has been detected. Please contact the site administrator," if you forget to make a "Video thumbnails" selection (i.e. - you must select either "Manually upload a thumbnail" or "Don't create thumbnail", otherwise, you get the error.)

The thing that makes this a "bug" is the fact that neither of these options appears to be in a "Required" field group. I'm not saying this is an issue with the Video module per-say, however, something should be done to make sure users understand that one of these options MUST be selected before saving the configurations.

Could it be that you have selected no transcoder? It's not an error to have no transcoder, but if that is the case, I think I know what the problem is.

Jorrit, I think you're correct because I never did--never thought I'd have the need for one--but that aside, I think the message could be clearer or else a default selection of "Don't create thumbnail" is in order to help the end-user avoid thinking that some form of systemic error has occurred. Otherwise, maybe a clearer indication like, "Please ensure a selection is made in the 'Video thumbnails' options.'

(Just something to consider.)

You're right, I just needed confirmation that your situation is as I expected. I will fix this problem soon.
