XanoThe state names need to be in US English. The t() function allows them to be translated to German (and other languages).

dercheffeI modified the patch by translating the state names into English based on following sources:
Germany:

bojanz CreditAttribution: bojanz commentedGoogle's dataset (Android/Chrome) specifies that neither Austria or Germany use the states for mailing, and that the state field should be hidden.
The PDF for Austria linked at: https://www.post.at/en/personal_send_letter_mail_shipping_advice_address... also seems to confirm this.
Does anyone have an official source that says otherwise?

dawehner confirmed that Germany doesn't use states for mailing.
Reopen if you find an official source that says otherwise.
