I have defined a view with the following path:

/kiggles/%

Then, in using the custom breadcrumb views module I have for the first title | first path:

Title:
kiggles
[node:field-media-type:parent:name]
[node:field-media-type:name]

Path:
kiggles
kiggles/[node:field-media-type:parent:tid]
kiggles/[node:field-media-type:parent:tid]/[node:field-media-type:tid]

the second and third paths work great. The first path merely says "Home" and the anchor tag points to the site's root URL.

I've also left "Home breadcrumb text" blank, and "Set the home breadcrumb text on all pages" to "true" as advised If you don't want a home breadcrumb to be displayed, just enable this option and make sure that the home breadcrumb text above is empty

What if you use the following configuration - does 'Home' still show up for the first URL path ?

Title:
[node:field-media-type:parent:name]
kiggles
[node:field-media-type:name]

Path:
kiggles/[node:field-media-type:parent:tid]
kiggles
kiggles/[node:field-media-type:parent:tid]/[node:field-media-type:tid]
