Content Access on the add content page

Not sure if i am doing something dumb, but i cannot find a way to use content access at the time i am creating a node. Its easily found after creating, but not during the creation process. I have multiple sites that each post their own content to their own users and would like to be able to specify the location during the process rather than after. This would also mean i wouldnt have to create a new content type for each location.
