But after installing the module, configuring a few relationships, enabling the permissions, and looking around, I cannot find any place in the normal site layout that actually allows the users to create their relationships with each other. There are several pages where they can see all their current relationships, what where are the actual links to get them started in the first place?

I'm using Drupal 5.3, the relationships module downloaded as of an hour ago, the Usernode and Node Profile modules, and a custom content User Profile which displays on the usernode. I'm guessing that the Usernode and Node Profile are preventing me from seeing the links that get it all started?

This has been fixed with the addition of the Actions block. Use that for all your usernode and node profile needs.
