Whether I print, send email or create a PDF version, the footer with the source URL always contains date and time in the american format and not the site's format.

What do you mean with that? The module uses the 'short' format defined in admin/config/regional/date-time

Where else do you set the 'site format'?

Found the info with 'short' format only here and luckily I'm using it nowhere else in my site.
Selection of date format in module config would be cool to allow a customized format just for the print view.
