As per our discussion on IRC, I have a view of users that uses the 'Representative node' relationship so I can get a single node created by each of the users and I want to use a view mode via Display Suite to render the output of the representative node itself, however the default behaviour of the Display Suite display plugin is to pass the base table entity not a related entity.

Incoming patch will add the ability to choose a relationship via the Display Suite display plugin settings to be used as the source for the rendering.
