Formatter options with Link data type need more options [#1906532]

with data type link installed, the following options are availalable to the formatter for the link type:

[ShrinkTheWeb] Title, as link
Title, as plain text
[ShrinkTheWeb] URL, as link
[ShrinkTheWeb] URL, as plain text
[ShrinkTheWeb] Short, as link with title "Link"
[ShrinkTheWeb] Label, as link with label as title
[ShrinkTheWeb] Separate title and URL
[ShrinkTheWeb] No link text
<Hidden>

I have very limited options available for displaying a link data type without a thumbnail with ShrinkTheWeb installed. Specifically, I have exactly one--Title, as plain text. I would like to be able to display a link as a URL without the ShrinkTheWeb thumbnail included. I know I could remove the module and have the link data type return to base case behavior, but I'd rather be able to choose when I display a thumbnail and when I don't. I'm pretty sure I could just edit up the module, but I also know I'm probably not alone in wanting this functionality to something that provides a nice bit of polish to a site like the ShrinkTheWeb module does. Is there some other way I'm not thinking of that would allow me to hide it?

We will add functionality, as time permits. This is a good suggestion and likely that we will put it on our list. However, you submitted this request a couple of months ago and may have moved on by now.

If not, please feel free to contribute patches and updates for faster support.

Otherwise, we will get to this after our urgent projects are handled.

I agree with the orignal post. I would like to see the original Link module formatting options available along with the new Shrink the Web options. There are many cases when I still want to just show the "URL, as link" with out the ShrinkThe Web thumbnail and as of now I am unaware on how to do that.

If there is a way please help! :)

Same here. As admin you should be able to choose the links that are presented with the shrinktheweb module and links that just display as normal link module option like title as link etc'
I have also commented on this post here where there seem to be a patch for a Dev version from more then a year ago. I have tried my luck in patching the lates version with no luck.
Would love some help, or even a work around.

Honestly, nothing is going to happen to this module until after we launch the new billing system. All resources are tied up on that project, at the moment.

Unfortunately, no. It's been a whirlwind just keeping up with demand and improving the system. We are short staffed and have no ETA on when we can get to this project.

Thats unfortunate.. in the meantime I am using display: none in my css to hide the thumbnails I don't want to see on my site.. not really a solution and i am sure the system still generates the thumbnail adding unneeded processes to my site and the ShrinkTheWeb api...
