It would be very nice to be able to choose if the marker info is displayed or not by default.

I made this too
it's rather easy :
admin settings udpate with a checkbox, and test it in js ;)

Works well with the patch at https://www.drupal.org/node/1919416 to allow the Marker Info display by default on the Location Map Block.
