It will be great if you can post some docs on how to implement a new storage service class and what methods to implement.

The best people to write documentation are beginners. Also, there are several services supported already - have a look at their implementations.

Sadly jbrown your glib comment is wide of the mark. There really needs to be some basic "plug in" type information around the module and how to extend it.
