No search results for bad URL [#1939230]

This seems to be a duplicate of this: http://drupal.org/node/494636

However, I am still having the problem with the latest version, 6.x-1.12.

I checked the patch listed in the above url and the fix is in 6..x-1.12; however, still not working for me.

No search is performed on bad urls, but the keyword is in the search box and the user would have to manually search.

Maybe I'm missing something? The search results should already be there, right? Would custom search interfere?

If search404 module is throttled or if auto search is disabled then the module will only take the user to the search form and the user will have to submit the form to search for the terms.

Can you please check your settings and try again. Please also try setting up the module on a fresh D6 site and see if you can replicate the error. Please pass on exact instructions to replicate the error based on that.
