During the import process i get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function taxonomy_get_vocabularies() in /sites/all/modules/migrate_d2d/migrate_d2d_ui/migrate_d2d_ui.migrate.inc on line 490

Maybe you should create a separate component for the wizard to make issue tracking easier?

I had to enable taxonomy. We should add a check whether taxonomy is enabled or not.

Yes, never ran into a real-world Drupal site with taxonomy disabled, but we should be checking just in case...
