Redirect does not work for unpublished node

It's quite common that some page could have a lifetime, like campaign to be unpublished in a certain date.
In this case, we'd better redirect the old path to a better described page instead of Not found, I mean, the path_redirect module could also check if the node is unpublished or not exist, then redirect, for example, to homepage.
