While a similar issue and patch exist for D6 here #613546: How to empty mail log? i post this as a separate issue, because that issue has not been updated for some time now.

This patch adds a 'Clear logs' button on the admin/reports/mail-logger page, similar to the core Clear logs button on the admin/reports/dblog page.
