jQuery 2.0 was just released: http://blog.jquery.com/2013/04/18/jquery-2-0-released/

Per the announcement it *should* be API compatible with 1.9 (which we currently have), just a lot faster. This obviously still needs in-depth, manual testing.

"Should," except for one major bullet:

"No more support for IE 6/7/8"

IE 8 is still supported for D8.

It'd be great to find out what the impact is on our front-end features, though.
