By default taxonomy/term/* node are sorted so that the first ones new. If you enable the module nodeorder, then in terms of the vocabulary for what "Orderable" does not include materials displayed in reverse order - oldest first, then the new ones. How to bring back the old sorting?

Currently you'd probably have to replace the default landing with a view.

There is a related issue about alphabetical sorting (#357221: Sort Alphabetically ). I do hope to support this at some point, but there are some other issues I'm working through at this point.
