when i click on the project name on localhost it just redirects to the same wampmanager page.. it does not load drupal installation... when i put the prefix "localhost" as in "localhost/#projectname#" in the address bar tho, it works.. i am kinda new to drupal but i would think that the prefix "localhost" should not be necessary to load the project.

I know your comment was from 2 months ago so I'm sure you figured it out, but for those following these steps and coming across the same error make sure you restart the apache service anytime you change the httpd-vhosts.conf file. That should do the trick.
