Follow up for #1940590: META: Write a multipage multilingual tour.
Problem/Motivation
Multilingual configuration is spread throughout the site. It would be useful to have a tour to help users know how to configure the site for multilingual. There should be individual tours for certain multilingual features and these can be linked together to make a multipage tour later via #1940590: META: Write a multipage multilingual tour.
Proposed resolution
Write individual tour for the user profile page only.
Remaining tasks
Create tour yml files for the user profile tour:
- User profile page (user/[uid]/edit)
- Configure "Site language" setting
- Configure "Administration pages language" setting
User interface changes
New tours
API changes

Kristen PolThis is a good novice issue. The yml files are pretty simple. You just need to know how to inspect the HTML to know what CSS tags to target. See:

pwieck CreditAttribution: pwieck commentedI would like to try doing this one. I will need a couple days to get up to speed on the doc's. Thx @Kristen Pol for telling me about this on IRC.

Kristen PolThanks @pwieck! :) This is a good one. It's just one page and only a couple settings to point out.

Kristen PolFyi... the "Site language" setting is for the regular pages on the site and the "Administration pages language" are for the admin pages (like when you have a regular theme vs. an admin theme). Hope that helps with knowing what might make sense to write :)

Kristen PolI talked to @pwieck and it looks like this might not make sense to do as an isolated multilingual tour. I don't think you can have different tours on the same page (would be cool!) and since this page is *largely* about the user profile and the focus is not multilingual then it might make more sense to have a *general* user profile tour (that can touch upon the multilingual settings) rather than just a multilingual tour for the two multilingual settings on this page.
Marking postponed for now until we can figure out what makes sense.

jhodgdonAs I suggested in comment #9 on the other issue, the language module (or whatever it is that is adding new functionality to the page) should use the existing tips alter hook to modify the tour that is already on that page.

quietone CreditAttribution: quietone as a volunteer commentedThis tour module is being deprecated, see #3336033: [Meta] Tasks to deprecate Tour module. It will be removed from core and moved to a contrib project, #3376099: [11.x] [Meta] Tasks to remove Tour.
This is now Postponed. The status is set according to two policies. The Remove a core extension and move it to a contributed project and the Extensions approved for removal policies.
