Scald Galaxy is a distribution to demonstrate Scald. It is also intended for developers who want to work with Scald. Scald Galaxy comes with latest version of all modules and many settings pre-configured. If you want to replicate Scald Galaxy, just read the source code. However, if you are a non developer, this article is a walk through to Scald Galaxy.

1. Download modules and libraries: full list.

2. Enable all of them: full list.

3. Step to step configuration with probably a few useless steps and no explanation (for explanation, please read other pages);

  1. Go to admin/appearance, select "Responsive Bartik" then "Enable and set default".
  2. In the "Administration theme" section, select "Seven", then "Save configuration".
  3. If you don't have text formats, go to admin/config/content/formats, then "Add text format", create the "Filtered HTML" and "Full HTML" text formats.
  4. If you don't have "Article" content type, go to admin/structure/types/add and add it.
  5. If you don't have "Tags" vocabulary, go to admin/structure/taxonomy/add and add it.
  6. Go to admin/structure/types/manage/article/fields, add a field_tags field of type "Term reference".
  7. Go back to admin/structure/types/manage/article/fields, add a field_image field of type "Atom Reference", click "Save", in the Edit tab, select "Image" in "Atom types that can be referenced".
  8. Go back to admin/structure/types/manage/article/fields, add a field_media field of type "Atom Reference", click "Save", in the Edit tab, select "Unlimited" in "Number of values". Don't check any checkbox in "Atom types that can be referenced".
  9. Go to admin/structure/scald, click "contexts" on the "Gallery" row.
  10. In the "Full page" and "Editor representation" contexts, select "Galleria" as the player. Click "Save".
  11. Go back to admin/structure/scald, click "Add context", fill in the title. Do twice for "Small" and "Medium" contexts.
  12. In each of those two contexts, click "Configure the player settings", click "Save".
  13. Go back to admin/structure/scald, click "contexts" on the "Image" row.
  14. Choose the transcoder "thumbnail" for "Small" context, and "medium" for "Medium" context. Choose the transcoder "large" for "Editor representation" context. Click "Save".
  15. Go to admin/structure/types/manage/article/fields/body, select "Drag'n'Drop Enabled". Click "Save settings".
  16. Go to admin/config/content/dnd, enter "600" for Modal width and "400" for "Modal height". Click "Save configuration".
  17. Go to admin/config/content/ckeditor, for each profile, do the following: click "Edit", in the "Editor appearance" section, check "Scald Drag and Drop integration" plugin and move the plugin icon into the toolbar. Click "Save".
  18. Go to admin/people/permissions, grant the permissions ('access content', 'access comments', 'fetch any atom', 'view any atom', 'use text format filtered_html') to anonymous users and ('access content', 'access comments', 'fetch any atom', 'view any atom', 'post comments', 'skip comment approval', 'use text format filtered_html') to authenticated users. Click "Save permissions".

4. Done!
