When viewing the apps listing page, users should be able to filter apps by whether they are open source or not. This will help users to know if apps are easy to work with and modify.

I suggest we include a field that says which license applies, rather than just a Y/N binary. (We can't keep track of proprietary licences, but we can come up with a vocabulary for the FLOSS ones. )

That is what the license field contains, several OSS licenses and "proprietary". This issue is about being able to filter effectively on those values (maybe could be better worded).
