Core: 7.22
Views: 7.x-3.7
TCPDF: 6.0.020
FPDI: 1.4.4

I'm using the latest version of Drupal and Views but cannot get views_pdf to work. On a fresh install with just views and views_pdf I experience the following behavior:

1) Generate basic page nodes using devel generate.
2) Create view with PDF display showing just node title - this view works and as expected displays all titles stacked on top of each other
3) Change title position to 'last writing position' - PDF now shows nothing
4) Change title position back to 'page' - PDF still shows nothing
5) Adding any fields basically doesn't help at all, can't get it to show properly no matter what settings I change but I can get it to display another PDF as the background (template).
6) Add a 'custom text' field - this will display but again, as soon as you change the position of the field it will never show again.

In the same environment version 7.x-1.x-dev works fine to output PDF.

@leex at the beginning views_pdf is a bit complicated to understand. please, can you make an screen capture with all your settings for the field? are you using unformatted style or table?
also i recommend to search in the issue cue where other people having problems at the beginning found a solution.

i didnt realize what you were saying about dev version. many patches have been applied to it. so that it is the one to use. this summer more work will be done.

Hey Candelas,

I understand it can be complicated, I've had some colleagues who've used views_pdf several times confirm it isn't working at all.

My setup: http://i.imgur.com/I0N5Zuo.png

You should try installing 7.x-1.0 with the latest version of D7 and see if you have the same problem.

I don't think it's really correct to say that dev is the one to use, the recommended release should at least be working out of the box. I'm going to put this back to critical for this reason, the module isn't usable in this state.

dev version isn't really complete or ready for production with all the error messages coming out.

@leex :)

i am not a maintainer, i am only a collaborator as you in this module. i am overload of work and i have not time to test what you say. i only give to you my advice as a user, you can do as you want and use dev or not.

have a good day :)
and keep reporting :)

ah! the setup is of a unformated pdf. can you capture all your pdf fields settings?
but i am using the dev version and i got my pdf made after "trial & error"...
i really dont know about the 7.x-1.0...

i have talked with one of the manteiners, killua99, to test things on agost, so sure that after it will be a relish :)
i think it would be more useful if you report about dev... :)

candelas it doesn't matter which settings I use, table doesn't work either.

The best thing you could do if you wanted to help would be to setup a site with the configuration I've described so you can experience the problem for yourself.

I know it's useful to report about dev but for everyone coming to use 7.x-1.0 like I did it is very useful for them to know that it isn't working so they don't need troubleshoot all over again. I don't think it matters so much that's it's broken, just that we're aware of it.

@leex I understand you point of view. But the module need some change. I'm working to make it useful again, don't despair and more when you see the issue queue updated.

Please test the lasted stable version. And tell me about it.
