Does autocomplete work with D7 and solr 1.4.1

Does solr autocomplete work with D7 and solr 1.4.1 ?
Running standard solr packages for ubuntu 10.4.
I am using a custom search form.
I also have a lot of modules that use jquery but I am not seeing any errors but no actions take place when I start typing a search term.
I tried updating the schema.xml and solrconfig.xml as suggested but I'm missing the solr suggester class.
solr search and facets are working good.
