We might need to change that default to link to nothing for now until we can figure out how to prevent something wrapped in a link from being edited in the WYSIWYG.

I suppose so. Although I get the feeling that we're leaving fields in a lurch. Is there an open issue to fix it in the wysiwyg yet?

We'd ideally use this same issue to try and work around it if we can re-enable the default link settings.
