Fillable PDFs Lose Fields

I am experimenting with this module a bit. The PDFs I am trying to use as templates include fillable fields. When they are loaded in a PDF view the fillable fields disappear. Is this how the module is supposed to work, or does this results from the PDF rendering engine? I really need to be able to keep the fillable fields.
