slideshow control selection does not appear with dynamic block

I enabled the dynamic display block module as i wanted a custom slideshow... but upon displaying it on my front page in a pane, i noticed the controls for the slideshow above (corporate clean theme) continues to work, however, the blue selector does not appear, but remains blank... so the viewer does not know which slide they are viewing on our themed slideshow. Is there a quick fix to this besides having to choose which one to keep and get rid of?
