I use this module with drupal commons. It seems to exist a message notification when an answer is posted but I never receive this notification.
I tried also to send this message (commons_q_a_question_answered) with "Send message with Message notify" action in rules and nothing happen.
One of my other try has been to execute a php action in rules using the message_notify_example as model. Also no success

Hi,
Did you try to go to the "notification" settings page (users/[user_name]/notification-settings) to see if you check : 'Send email notifications by default.' ?

Ideed, I forget to mention it. The message is not sent in the both cases.

I also noticed that when an user is following a question he receives a notification when he add an answer but not the other followers.
