Down the road it would be great to see login functionality with active directories for use on local domains. I saw there is a module called "LDAP Integration" and it looks like that may offer a method of incorporating such a feature.

This module is indeed plugable to OpenideaL but won't be inserted to it's core, as it doesn't respond to general use needs.
