Glossary view as content pane instead of page

I had a working glossary view as a page display, but when I converted it to a panel display with attachment the ajax to display additional letters stopped working. It works on the view preview but not on the panel page.

I tried to insert all manner of contexts, but I can't figure it out... or perhaps it just won't work as a content pane with ajax?
