When notifications for new content in a group are enabled, it sends an email notification for every new spam content.

Mollom seems to filter the content out of the Drupal Group, but possibly after the 'new content' email notification has already been sent.

Attached is a screenshot with the notification emails I get almost every day from the Recipes and Food group

I believe most of the spam is filtered from the group with Mollom, some manually by (super) humans.

How can one still get the notifications for new content without getting notified of spam?
Maybe this is a feature request: 'send notifications AFTER filtering spam'

I believe this already works as you've requested and what you were seeing was manual deletion of spam. When Mollom catches spam, it prevents the content from ever being created. But Mollom doesn't catch everything. See #2104323: Ask Acqiua to review g.d.o's recent Mollom history for more on that. So when Mollom missed something, notifications go out, and then someone manually deletes the spam before you see it.
