The Single Gourmet is a community-based social dinning club for single professionals seeking the company of other singles. Unlike typical dating agencies and online matchmaking sites, The Single Gourmet brings single people together in a pressure-free atmosphere where they can meet and interact freely, all while enjoying a gourmet meal in an upscale setting.
The focus of this project was to build an online site that allows organizers to post events and for members to book and pay for events.
The website collects limited personal information about members and does not publish their information, thus protecting their privacy.
Why Drupal was chosen:
Having successfully completed several Drupal websites using Drupal Commerce, we decided that Drupal was the perfect fit for this project.
Describe the project (goals, requirements and outcome):
The main goal was the build a secure website where members' privacy could be respected and to facilitate online event planning, booking, and payment.
One of the main goals was to allow members to see upcoming events and allow them to freely book events without having to contact the club to do so. We needed effective means to communicate with members. Previously, members needed to call to book events and had to line up to pay for events at the door.

AT Commerce provided an excellent starting point for our custom theme.
We were able to meet most of our requirements using Drupal core and the above noted contributed modules, with varying degree of customization without having to modify existing code.
