Hi,

Is there plans to introduce D8 version of this module?

We would like to help you with development of this version or to implement it from scratch.

Thanks,

If you would like to work on a D8 version I will happily add the code for you

Version: 7.x-1.1 » 8.x-1.x-dev

Module has been passed through Drupal Module Upgrader to generate the current code base.

Additionally, there is upgrade-info.html in the repo which contains information and links of what needs to be changed.

Was wondering if this feature would be in d8 core? If not can we get this going? I'll gladly test as not a php coder.

Must say I do not understand : this feature is already in core... You can put as many times as you wish any block...

I did think modules about nodes were irrelivant given the all block system and some entity based block questions were meant' to be "fixed" in d8 core.

@eme - I haven't had a chance to dig in deep yet in d8 - is this basically not needed then?

Sorry, I'm late to answer : did not see your response.

So indeed in D8 you can put a single block as many times as you whish with their own configurations in the core block interface. Unless we track a lack in the system (that I do not see for now), this module is not needed (that can let you time to port / develop anoter one !).

@eme: am i correct that one can use a block several times but only if the block is a custom block? I am trying to put a third party block (social media links module) both in the footer region and in the header region but that does not work ...if I place the block in the footer region and try to add it to the header region, it gets placed in the header region and disappears from the footer ...

Well, this is quite a strange bug. Any block including third party block can be placed several time. Maybe the block you're talking about cannot because the javascript behind does not work in case of multiple block. I've developped Entity forms in blocks so I know you can place a non custom block any number of times with different settings if needed.

Yeah must be the module... Tried other blocks and they work fine... I'll report the issue to the developer.

Marking this tread as closed again.

Tnx for the insight!
