I've just updated to 2.8 from 2.7, but it's still showing in 'available updates'.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I have no idea. Clear the cache? Fetch updates again? This sounds more like an update manager issue than a Backup and Migrate issue.

Actually this is not just an issue for one person. I have around 8 Drupal 7 sites and they all have had this issue for months. All sites are on the latest 7.x-3.x-dev version of Backup and Migrate and they all indicate that I need to update (to the same version - 7.x-3.x-dev). I have tried manually replacing the files as well as updating from the Drupal interface, running DB update, cron, clearing cache, etc. Initially the update disappears, but comes back after cron run.

What date is your dev version from? Dev versions change often, there was a new dev release yesterday.

Either way, if you're having a problem with the update functionality on your site it probably isn't related to Backup and Migrate. I don't have any control over how drupal.org packages releases.

Well, since it's been so long I've tried several of the latest dev versions over the last few months, all with the same issue... I keep all my sites up to date every couple days. No other modules have had this problem during this time. It is something specifically related to Backup and Migrate (which is a great module). All 8 sites, each with a different setup and modules have the same issue. This is not a big deal... just slightly annoying.

Sorry, that is annoying. If you figure out that I did something wrong, let me know. I'll be releasing stable versions of the 3.x branch soon which will hopefully clear this up you.

Thank you. I will post here if the stable version fixes the issue for me. Thanks for your work!

Upgrading to 7.x-3.0-alpha1 has fixed this issue for me. Thanks for the continued improvement to this very helpful module.
