Try sub-theming, which is the preferred mechanism for any customisations to a theme to prevent overwriting your code on theme updates.

Lexi Responsive Theme is not related to any core theme. Directly you can use.
this theme is not support sub-theming option.

Create new style-sheet & call css file in theme info file and clear drupal cache.
