custom like dislike rate and custom calculation

I have researched, poured through countless issues, examples and samples. Im trying to make sense of how to use the rate module to have a like dislike vote where I can show the individual points accumulated, show clickable thumb up, thumb down button, and sort most liked, most disliked and the most popular ( a custom formula that involves the individual counts and the total. I would also like to show the most popular for a 3 time frames 48 hours, this week, and this month.

so far I have a custom rate widget with a like and dislike option. Im struggling to figure out how to them them with the numbers. What I have right now (after reading the read me.txt) displays the per option vote and the total. I can't figure out who to them this.

Also anyone know about examples for custom calculations, and views. Im thinking that the votes wold need to be able to have a date time stamp for me to be able to use views to filter for what was popular 48 hours, this week, or this month. Any thoughts or directions on any of this?
