Trying to make a view with the file name link to the downloadable file is pretty complicated (adding a invisible file: path and rewrite the link option in the file: name field).
I would like to see an additional option in the file: name field to not link to the entity but to the actual file for downloading (similar to the file: path options for the uri).
I think this would cover a lot of use cases for files in views.

Dave ReidWhy not use the file: Download link field and in the options change the next to use the file name?

grossmann CreditAttribution: grossmann commentedI tried this but could not find an option to show the filename on the file: download field. Replacement patterns like [filename_1] also didn't work in the "Text to display" field.

PolThanks @Dave Reid, that's the perfect solution.
@grossmann-mcs: You have to create a relationship to have access to those fields.
