Nick_vhYou might want to move the explanation first and after the example. Also add a line in the README.txt if you could? It could even be it's already there.

I was trying to keep the text really short, but for novices the URL differences between a singlecore or multicore solr server is not obvious and so this is intended to save them (me) some hours working out that all they needed was a /core0 at the end.. :)

Also, I'd remove the different ports, they are too random and add confusion. Keep them at 8983 as that is the default jetty port for single and multicore cores. If there is a custom/different port, they will know. So that part of the text could be removed.
