Having spent many many hours trying to get drupal to talk to the Solr cores, this is intended to save non solr experts from tearing their hair out trying to successfully target the (multicore) solr core

Thanks @Nick_vh, you are quick!

Was just working through converting the diff patch to a git diff patch, with considerable help from a team here at the LONDON_2014_JANUARY
#SprintWeekend2014

ps/ Am very excited as this is my first patch! :)

You might want to move the explanation first and after the example. Also add a line in the README.txt if you could? It could even be it's already there.

rerolled, hopefully along the lines of what you requested.

I was trying to keep the text really short, but for novices the URL differences between a singlecore or multicore solr server is not obvious and so this is intended to save them (me) some hours working out that all they needed was a /core0 at the end.. :)

now without whitespace errors :/

Behavior / Behaviour? American/British?

Also, I'd remove the different ports, they are too random and add confusion. Keep them at 8983 as that is the default jetty port for single and multicore cores. If there is a custom/different port, they will know. So that part of the text could be removed.

The last submitted patch, 7: gui-alt-solr-cores-2181531-7.patch, failed testing.
